2020+ RZR Pro XP and Pro XP 4 Audio Accessory Installation

This video will describe the installation process for the Stage 4 Audio Upgrade (0:39) and the 10-Inch Subwoofer (9:34) on a Polaris RZR Pro XP or RZR Pro XP 4. 

Always wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves when installing accessories on your RZR. Before installation of any accessories, read the instructions thoroughly and verify all parts and tools are accounted for.

For your safety, perform all installation steps in the sequence shown and retain the instructions for future reference and parts ordering information. 

Stage Four Audio Upgrade Installation
The Stage 4 Audio Upgrade by Rockford Fosgate® is part number 2884655, formerly part number 2884255. To install it, follow these steps:

1. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface and shift the transmission into PARK.

2. Turn the ignition switch OFF and remove the key.

3. Next, remove the two center hood fasteners with a T40 TORX® socket.

4. Lift the panel up and slide the panel toward the rear of the vehicle to remove.

5. Next, open the center dashboard storage compartment.

6. Pull up firmly on the bin inside to disengage the retainers. Remove the plug connection inside the bin if needed and remove the bin to gain access to the pulse bar.

7. Next, carefully pry up and remove the left, center and right dash trim pieces. Releasing the steering tilt lock can improve clearance around the left dash trim.

8. Continue by opening the glove box lid. Once inside, use T25 and T40 TORX® sockets to remove and retain the four fasteners around the glove box opening and the three fasteners on the dashboard top. Take note of the different length fasteners for reinstallation.

9. Release the steering lock and tilt the steering wheel down. Then use a T40 TORX® socket to remove and retain the four dashboard fasteners around the steering column.

10. Next, using a T40 TORX® socket, remove and retain the two top fasteners on the center of the dash.

11. Then remove and retain the two push rivets from the front side panels.

12. With the aid of an assistant, carefully pull the side panels out to gain clearance for dashboard removal. Then lift the rear of the dashboard up and pull back to remove from the vehicle.

13. Next, remove both front seats by pulling up on the seat lever and pivoting forward to remove from the vehicle.

14. Continue by opening the center console lid and turning the quarter-turn latches inside to release the storage bin.

15. Lift the storage bin out, disconnect the plug connection if needed and set aside.

16. Next, remove and retain the two center console storage bin fasteners on each side.

17. Lift the storage bin out of the vehicle and set it aside.

18. Next, using a T40 TORX® socket, remove and the retain three fasteners and push rivet on each side of the center console.

19. Using a T40 TORX® socket, remove and retain five console fasteners in each footwell.

20. Next, locate the fuse box underneath the steering wheel. Using a 10mm socket, remove and retain the push rivet and fuse block fastener.

21. Rotate the fuse block upward to access the push rivet underneath. Remove the push rivet. Also remove the interior light if equipped.

22. On the passenger side, remove and retain the two push rivets on the front of the console underneath the dash area.

23. Next, disconnect the 12-volt outlet from the rear of the center console.

24. Continue by carefully lifting the center panels upward to remove from the vehicle.

25. Next, release the four quarter-turn latches on the top close-off panel and lift up to remove the panel.

26. Then turn the two quarter-turn latches and lift up to remove the bottom close-off panel.

27. Begin routing connector 3C through the grommet on the passenger side console panel.

28. Loosely reinstall the passenger-side console panel and begin routing the audio harness to the accessory mounting panel. Secure the harness to the vehicle with the included edge clips.

29. Remove the cover from the rear audio connector and connect harness 3C to the main audio harness.

30. Route the harness along the tunnel with the included harness clips and bundle any excess harness under the center console panel with a cable tie.

31. Continue routing the audio harness along the chassis harness behind the rear close-off panel using two cable ties, one routing clip and one edge clip at the corner gusset.

32. Next, remove the coolant access cover to aid in harness routing during the next step.

33. Attach the harness to the vehicle frame with the two included edge clips and reinstall the coolant access cover.

34. Continue routing the audio harness along the top of the chassis harness behind the close-off panel with the included edge clips.

35. Next, using a T40 TORX® socket, remove and discard the two panel fasteners near the coolant access cover.

36. Install the left-hand speaker bracket with the two bracket fasteners. Torque to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

37. Next, connect harness connector 3B to the left-hand speaker and secure the connector into the speaker with the included tree-clip.

38. Install the left-hand speaker, ensuring the rear tabs slide into the notches on the upper body panel.

39. Then slide the speaker forward into the bracket and align the mounting holes. While placing downward pressure on the speaker, install the included knob fastener and torque until fully seated.

40. Ensure the speaker assembly is secure and repeat this process on the other speaker.

41. Before reassembly, verify the speakers operate properly.

42. Then with the aid of an assistant, carefully pull the side panels out to gain clearance for dashboard installation. Lift the rear of the dashboard up and install into place.

43. Ensure the tabs on the side panels are aligned in the slots on the dashboard top.

44. Also, check to ensure the right and left boots are properly installed and only allowing the upper lip to be visible.

45. Next, install the two retained push rivets into the side panels.

46. Then install the two top fasteners in the center of the dashboard. Torque to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

47. Release the steering lock and tilt the steering wheel down. Then install the four dashboard fasteners around the steering column. Torque to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

48. Continue by opening the glove box lid and installing the four fasteners around the glove box opening. Torque to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

49. Then install the three fasteners on the dashboard top. Torque to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

50. Reinstall the left, center, and right dash trim pieces.

51. Reinstall the dashboard storage compartment and ensure all four retention points are secure.

52. Reinstall the center hood panel and fasteners, ensuring the tabs in front are properly engaged. Torque to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

53. Next, reinstall the bottom close-off panel and ensure the lower retention points are properly engaged. Then secure the two quarter-turn latches.

54. Reinstall the top close-off panel, ensuring the lower retention tabs are engaged in the lower panel, and secure the four quarter-turn latches.

55. Carefully reposition the side panels for installation.

56. Start by installing the two push front push rivets on the passenger side. Also reinstall the interior light if equipped.

57. Then install the five fasteners on each side of the console in the footwell. Torque to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

58. Install the three retained center console fasteners and one push rivet on each side of the panel. Torque the fasteners to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

59. Reinstall the retained push rivet underneath the fuse block and reposition the fuse block over it.

60. Then reinstall the block push rivet and fastener. Torque the fastener to 31 in-lbs (3.5 Nm).

61. Reconnect the 12-volt outlet on the center console and install the storage compartment.

62. Then reinstall the four retained fasteners on each side of the compartment. Torque to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

63. Secure the quarter-turn latches and reinstall the storage bin.

64. Finally, reinstall the seats by aligning the front bracket mounts and pushing down in the rear to engage the seat locks.

10-inch Subwoofer Installation
The 10-Inch Subwoofer Stage 3 Upgrade by Rockford Fosgate® is part number 2883857. To install one, follow these steps:

1. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface and shift the transmission into PARK.

2. Turn the ignition switch OFF and remove the key.

3. Next, pull up on the driver’s seat lever and pivot forward to remove from the vehicle.

4. Remove the negative battery terminal fastener and washer and set the cable aside.

5. Next, remove the two center hood fasteners with a T40 TORX® socket.

6. Lift the panel up and slide the panel toward the rear of the vehicle to remove from the vehicle.

7. Next, open the center dashboard storage compartment.

8. Pull up firmly on the bin inside to disengage the retainers. Remove the plug connection inside the bin if needed and remove the bin to gain access to the Pulse bar.

9. Next, carefully pry up and remove the left, center and right dash trim pieces. Releasing the steering tilt lock can improve clearance around the left dash trim.

10. Continue by opening the glove box lid. Once inside, use T25 and T40 TORX® sockets to remove and retain the four fasteners around the glove box opening and the three fasteners on the dashboard top. Take note of the different length fasteners for reinstallation.

11. Release the steering lock and tilt the steering wheel down. Then use a T40 TORX® socket to remove and retain the four dashboard fasteners around the steering column.

12. Next, use a T40 TORX® socket to remove and retain the two top fasteners on the center of the dash.

13. Remove and retain the two push rivets from the front side panels.

14. With the aid of an assistant, carefully pull the side panels out to gain clearance for dashboard removal. Then lift the rear of the dashboard up and pull back to remove from the vehicle.

15. Next, disconnect the passenger-side speaker connector.

16. Use a T40 TORX® socket to remove and retain the two speaker grille fasteners and remove the grille.

17. Then use a 3mm Allen socket to remove and retain the four inside speaker fasteners.

18. Use a T30 TORX® socket to remove and retain the two lower speaker fasteners.

19. Continue by removing the two push rivets on the side panel below the speaker to aid in speaker removal.

20. Carefully pull the speaker trim forward and maneuver the speaker out from under the dashboard. Set the speaker aside.

21. Place the subwoofer harness into the accessory mounting tray underneath the dash. Route connectors 1D and 1E downward, toward the floor panel.

22. Install fuse relay 1A into accessory mounting position 4.

23. Then use a 10mm socket to remove the two positive and negative cable nuts on the Pulse bar.

24. Install the positive terminal cable 1B onto the positive terminal. Reinstall the nut and torque to 44 in-lbs (5 Nm).

25. Then install the negative terminal cable 1C onto the negative terminal. Reinstall the nut and torque to 44 in-lbs (5 Nm).

26. Join the source connector 1D to the chassis harness (or audio accessory harness) connector, which is hidden beneath the accessory mounting panel.

27. Next, use a T40 TORX® socket to remove the upper push rivet on the center console side panel and the outer fastener on the dashboard to aid in subwoofer installation.

28. Continue by removing the bracket assembly from the subwoofer assembly with a T27 TORX® socket.

29. Install two U-clips onto the front cab panel. Then, position the subwoofer near the dashboard and connect the subwoofer connector 1E to the subwoofer assembly. Route the harness through the accessory mounting panel.

30. With the aid of an assistant, rotate the subwoofer into place and reattach the subwoofer bracket.

31. Then reinstall the bracket fasteners, ensuring the bracket is hooked over the vehicle frame. Torque to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

32. Next, use a T40 TORX® socket to remove the ground terminal fastener on the vehicle frame and reinstall with the subwoofer ground terminal attached. Ensure the cable is not pinched and is routed upward toward the accessory panel. Torque the terminal to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

33. Next, carefully pull the speaker trim out and maneuver the passenger speaker into place, ensuring the cables are routed upward to the underside of the dashboard.

34. Install the outer push rivet first to aid in panel alignment. Then loosely install the inner push rivet on the panel trim. Swing the trim into place and secure the rivet in its mounting hole.

35. Next, reinstall the two lower speaker fasteners. Torque to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

36. Then reinstall the four speaker fasteners. Torque to 36 in-lbs (4 Nm).

37. Secure the bottom of the subwoofer to the vehicle with the two included fasteners and, using a T27 TORX® socket, torque to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

38. Next, reinstall the upper push rivet on the center console side panel and the outer fastener on the dashboard. Torque the fastener to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

39. Then reinstall the speaker grille with the two retained fasteners. Torque to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

40. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Torque to 44 in-lbs (5 Nm).

41. Before reassembly, test the subwoofer for proper operation.

42. Then with the aid of an assistant, carefully pull the side panels out to gain clearance for dashboard installation. Lift the rear of the dashboard up and install into place.

43. Ensure the tabs on the side panels are aligned in the slots on the dashboard top.

44. Also check that the right and left boots are properly installed and only the upper lip is visible.

45. Next, install the two retained push rivets into the side panels.

46. Then install the two top fasteners in the center of the dashboard. Torque to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

47. Release the steering lock and tilt the steering wheel down. Install the four dashboard fasteners around the steering column. Torque to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

48. Continue by opening the glove box lid and installing the four fasteners around the glove box opening. Torque to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

49. Then install the three fasteners on the dashboard top. Torque to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

50. Reinstall the left, center and right dash trim pieces.

51. Reinstall the dashboard storage compartment and ensure all four retention points are secure.

52. Reinstall the center hood panel and fasteners, ensuring the tabs in front are properly engaged. Torque to 89 in-lbs (10 Nm).

53. Finally, reinstall the seat by aligning the front bracket mounts and pushing down in the rear to engage the seat locks.
