
Electrical CAD Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for utilizing MCAD toolchains to create and maintain high quality 3D designs and subsequent 2D drawings for vehicle electrical systems. This role will support design generation, development, and eventual implementation into production. The primary area of focus will be on Polaris Off-Road vehicles with involvement on other Polaris products as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Close collaboration with the platform Electrical Systems Designer and Systems Engineer to execute the desired physical strategy for a vehicle electrical system in the 3D CAD realm
- Generates and maintains 2D engineering drawings that provide maximum clarity and accuracy
- Evaluates designs to ensure they meet vehicle, system, and component level requirements
- Assists in the design of brackets, features, interfaces, and other mechanical components to achieve successful component placement and harness routings
- Executes Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) on existing parts
- Supports on-time design release activities
- Participates in collaborative design reviews
- Performs other miscellaneous electrical drafting/detailing/design assignments as required.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Engineering Diploma/Engineering graduate in Electrical or equivalent.
- Proficiency with CAD required; strongly prefer previous Creo and Siemens Capital Harness experience
- Strong attention to detail to ensure designs are completed accurately without errors
- Experience with the routing of flexible components such as wire harnesses and cables
- Demonstrate strong project management skills by managing complexity on multiple concurrent programs with competing priorities
- Competence with product lifecycle management and release processes
- Prefer previous experience in new product design and development, ideally in the transportation, agriculture, construction, or off-road vehicle industries
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and quickly work towards issue resolution
- Aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements, including toolchain enhancements
- Must be a self-starter that requires minimal work direction and capable of self-scheduling tasks within project timing.
- Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Microsoft software including Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
- Experience working with a Global product development team

- Fast-paced office and lab environment.
- Alignment to North American working hours to have overlap with NA based staff.
