JOB SUMMARY:

Polaris is looking for a Electrical Validation Engineer to join our expanding Vehicle Electronics & Software team, focusing on connected products and technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for validating both hardware and software components of connected products across various Polaris vehicles. You will support all phases of the product lifecycle, from design through to manufacturing, for both internally and externally developed products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all aspects of hardware and software validation. This includes validation planning, test case/procedure development, test environment and simulation setup, execution and reporting.
  • Coordinate validation with Program Management, Validation Engineers, Technicians, outside suppliers as required.
  • Manage multiple component validation schedules and projects simultaneously.
  • Participate in system design and requirements reviews.
  • Participate in HARA/DFMEA and Functional Safety discussions as needed.
  • Create test plans for hardware and software validation.
  • Setup, execute, and analyze the results of the software validation and report results to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the hardware validation is completed as required by suppliers or test labs.
  • Interface with cross-functional Polaris Teams as needed to ensure that validation is met and to align release schedules
  • Update Program Management and Product Teams on connected products maturity.
  • Familiarity with Product Development Process (PDP) stage gate development. Interacts with Program Management and Product Team during PDP phases. Understands and aligns development to meet internal customer needs.
  • Participates in activities such as; failure investigations, root causes analysis and implementation of corrective actions, lessons learned, and consequently design standards update.
  • Optimizes and develops validation strategies with a Continuous Improvement mindset.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering required
  • 4+ years of experience validating embedded systems especially related to vehicle controls/diagnostics/communication required
  • Experience with design and/or implementation of controls, especially related to vehicle controls/diagnostics/communication required
  • Experience with software and/or hardware validation, other low-level software verification, and related documentation required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced development environment required
  • Experience in effective problem solving and troubleshooting required
  • Experience with communication networks required, CAN, J1939 and UDS strongly preferred including use of Vector CANalyzer and CANoe.
  • Experience with Linux based systems.
  • Experience with gauge and/or display or telematics development preferred.
  • Familiarity with requirement and test case management in a requirement/software development database (e.g. DOORS, Jama, Integrity, Codebeamer, Test Rail) as well as configuration management preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS: Fast paced office environment with ability and interest to work in a development shop/lab environment as needed. Some travel required <10%
