JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting the financial planning and strategic analysis needs of the Commercial (~$300M) division of Polaris with its recent rapid growth. This position leads the forecasting processes, owns business case analyses and ensures accuracy in the monthly close process, in addition to various projects to advance our capabilities and accuracy. This role is part of the Off-Road Finance Team, reporting to the Finance Manager, CGD (Commercial, Government and Defense), and partners closely with sales, operations, service, engineering and leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead all forecasting cycles (including annual budget and 5-year plan) for entire Commercial P&L
Coordinate with international FP&A team to understand our full global results and forecast
Act as a guide to the business through analyzing monthly results, understanding channel/customer mix, and helping to identify risks & opportunities
Work closely with centralized teams – plants/operations, freight, product cost, corporate – to understand complex business drivers and implications to the financials
Analyze business cases to support decisions on new opportunities and platforms
Accounting responsibilities as assigned: to include preparing/posting monthly journal entries, calculating warranty reserve, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
Opportunity to interact with and present financial analysis to the business VP and other leaders
Identify and influence projects to enhance synergies and streamline processes across businesses
Design and implement new tools (i.e. profitability / mix analysis) and procedures as needed to adapt to the ever-changing business
All other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required.
2-5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance required.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Experience in Onestream preferred
Experience with analytics tools such as Alteryx or Power BI preferred
Proactive team-player with a continuous improvement mindset
Well-organized, self-starter able to multi-task and manage priorities effectively and accurately
Strong analytical and communication skills; detail and deadline orientated
Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
Ability to clearly and concisely explain complex information to business partners
Able to build strong relationships and trust across the team – cross-functionally, across levels and around the world
Proven experience coordinating with and influencing cross-functional teams in a dynamic, matrixed organization
Able to think outside the box and willing to challenge the status quo
Adaptable to shifting priorities and timelines
