Incoming Quality Inspector

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform dimensional verifications on all in-house and vendor components utilizing various measuring devices such as Micrometers, calipers, bore gages, Romer/Faro-arm, hardness tester, and CMM. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, and knowledge of GD&T standards. Work with manufacturing, product engineering, purchasing, and vendors to resolve quality concerns in a timely manner. Execute dimensional verification on components or products using other means of dimensional verification such as CAD and digitizing techniques. Perform work assignments per Quality Engineer’s instruction and work schedule. Assist in meeting departmental work schedules and company quality standards. Maintain OSHA compliance and corporate safety standards within the department and company. Maintain current technical skills on all technical measuring devices as required. Support workload overtime requirements with minimal notice. Support/maintain housekeeping objectives within the Quality Assurance department and company. Perform other Quality functions/audits that assist in maintaining the Quality standards of the product. Must have the ability to be self-directed and work with little supervision. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Capabilities:

Ability to use lab measurement equipment such as Romer/FARO arms, CMM, and typical hand tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.). Ability to analyze and interpret engineering prints and CAD models.  Strong knowledge of GD&T fundamentals and datum schemes as required to perform accurate analysis of parts/assemblies.  Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially with regard to relaying technical information to Engineering and Manufacturing in order to drive improvements to products and processes. Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) for reporting and analyzing data.  Prior experience with PPAP is preferred.

• •Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• •Ability to bend, twist, turn, kneel, squat, and climb.
• •Stand and walk up to eight hours per day.
• •Work safely around moving equipment, power tools, and industrial vehicles. It may be necessary to perform any of these functions up to eight hours a day.
• •High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• •18 years of age or older.
• •Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• •Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screens.
• •Willing and able to travel for training and onboarding purposes as required by the position

The salary range for Washington State is $18.46 - $22.59. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
