REPORTS TO: D&IT Engineering Systems Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for an IT Software Engineer (CAD/CAE Admin) to work in an exciting and a very fast-paced environment. As a CAD admin on the Polaris team, you will have the ability to work on support related to the administration of Creo Parametric, Windchill PLM and engineering applications in the PLM/Engineering group within the Digital & Information Technology function. The admin needs to understand the support framework and provide required assistance to the business end-users within the Service Level Agreement (SLA) defined. The admin also helps ensure the general upkeep and performance of these applications with high availability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with the Product Managers, Leads, Administrators and the business to analyze and ensure understanding of the support requirements and provide solutions
- Handle the helpdesk and support the users for the tickets on Engineering applications –CAD tools, CAD configurations & licensing
- Provide support during the upgrade and enhancements planned for CAD software
- Provide guidance to users and other IT staff on best practices for CAD, primarily Creo Parametric
- Perform installation and configuration of Creo Parametric software, testing of system functionalities and business processes and deployment
- Administration and general upkeep of the CAD system with performance tuning capability
- Document test cases and perform systems and acceptance testing
- Troubleshoot production issues (if any) when projects are released
- Provide after install support: Questions and helpdesk tickets from users
- Attend and participate in project and administrative meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficient in Creo Parametric 4.0 or later versions
- Experience in Creo Model Management
- Experience in large assembly management with Creo
- Experience with Creo Illustrate Creo View, Creo Schematics, Creo Simulate, ANSYS Suite, Altair Suite, FlexLM, RLM, LMx, ServiceNow or tools with similar functionality
- Proficiency in handling support requests on configurations and troubleshooting of CAD tools and any of the other tools mentioned above
- Familiarity with CAD management in Windchill 12.0 and the newer architecture is preferable
OTHER SKILLS
- Bachelor in Engineering or equivalent in Information Technology/Computer Science
- Minimum 3 years experience in CAD administration and support (Creo Parametric 4.0 or later)
- Knowledge of automation and standards in Creo is desirable
- Any experience in UDF libraries in Creo
- Knowledge of Windchill 11.x or later
- Experience in CAE applications is desirable
- Experience with other tools like ReliaSoft, ABAQUS, AMESIM, StarCCM+, Digital Wrench II, INCA, Ensight, Taitherm, Print2CAD, MATLAB and Simulink is preferable
- Should be flexible to support during weekends as required for patch updates and deployments
- Self-directed with excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
- Ability to look beyond solving the business problem to see things like monitoring, logging, and performance to be standard
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple project assignments
- Good team player with flexibility on working hours to collaborate with counterparts
