Job Summary
Design and support equipment for the assembly and production of vehicle displays, gauges and instrumentation that meet safety, quality, productivity and cost efficiency goals. To include design in Solid works, interfacing with existing equipment, complex non-linear motion, detail drawings, plumbing schematics, BOM creation and maintenance, and selection of components.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and develop equipment, fixtures, and tools to support the manufacture of our current and future products with focus on throughput, downtime reduction and efficiency.
- Schedule and facilitate tool review meetings with internal customers and external vendors.
- Work as liaison with design and manufacturing team to concept, design and build small through large fixtures.
- Independent project management (i.e. organization, coordination, problem solving, initiative and ownership).
- Able to work independently or in a team atmosphere on various sized projects.
- Produce detailed CAD and drawings of assembly equipment, fixtures, and tooling.
- Assembly, troubleshooting and benchmarking of new assembly equipment and fixtures.
- Support outsourcing of tooling through external vendors.
- Able to assist with automated tooling and equipment.
- Generates creative solutions; manages competing demands or unexpected events; adapts strategy to changing conditions; prioritizes and plans work activities; sets goals and objectives.
- Able to lead technological advances for current department and train others when necessary.
- Operate manual and CNC equipment as required.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
Skills, Experience, & Education
- Minimum of 4 year degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years design/drafting experience.
- Proven track record and experience (5,000 hours minimum) in Solid works
- Experience with robotics, Co-Bots and automation
- Programming or controls knowledge a plus.
- Direct design experience with assembly tooling used in production environment.
- Must be a self-starter that requires minimal work direction.
- Work directly with toolmakers, manufacturing engineers and production facility.
- Manage a high pressure manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to work overtime as required.

The salary range for this position within the State of Washington is $105,000 - $130,000 Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
