This role has responsibility to provide leadership and direction around all accounting and control activities for Polaris’ aftermarket accessory businesses (known as APEX brands), which include Kolpin, Pro Armor, Trail Tech & Premier OEM. The role will direct all aspects of financial accounting and reporting to support these business’ objectives (encompassing operational, manufacturing and go-to-market activities) and lead a team to improve processes, manage analysis and decision support for accounting matters and support growth initiatives. Also, the role will establish and maintain a strong system of internal control. The role reports directly to the business unit Finance VP, and coordinates regularly with the global PG&A Controller, Corporate Controllership and audit teams. This role is a key member of the aftermarket accessory team that works broadly and cross functionally to contribute to the success of these brands, partnering extensively with brand and functional leaders therein.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is a key role that includes day-to-day business visibility and partnering as well as ongoing functional visibility and accountability to Corporate Finance and PG&A teams. The person will lead a team ensures financial accuracy, reports on business performance and recommends actions to improve business processes and outcomes.
Accountable for operational accounting and control across all financial aspects of the businesses.
Lead team of direct reports and shared service resources to ensure all aspects of the accounting process are completed timely & accurately.
Responsible for supporting all corporate initiatives and meeting all deadlines (i.e. submitting financial results, reserve calculations, capital reporting).
Directly owns month end close process, accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury for all APEX brands.
Partners with IS and APEX operational teams to ensure financial accuracy and strong controls.
Responsible for review and completeness of account reconciliations and ensuring the accuracy of entity level and consolidated APEX brand reporting.
Ensure financial information is accurately loaded to financial management systems (OneStream) for corporate consolidation.
Facilitate discussions with business groups and work with business managers to ensure effective accounting for changes in business.
Work with 3rd party payroll processer to ensure payroll is processed accurately for Premier OEM.
Cultivate and oversee shared services activities: accounts payable & accounts receivable functions and related treasury management.
Supervise the maintenance and documentation of business unit financial processes and procedures.
Design & implement necessary financial controls to maintain compliance with corporate guidelines.
Attract, lead and develop team to achieve high engagement, strong team and individual performance and depth of talent to meet Polaris’ growth.
Demonstrate proficiency in the design and maintenance of the Microsoft Dynamics AX general ledger
Drive quality and continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
6+ years progressive experience in accounting.
Demonstrated ability partnering with business unit providing strategic financial partnership.
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships in a matrix environment with customers in multiple locations
Working familiarity with U.S. GAAP and experience implementing / managing internal controls.
Experience working through monthly closing of financials as well as generating financial reporting and explaining results to partners.
Proficient with accounting and financial reporting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX, OneStream and Alteryx a plus.
Strong analytical and communication skills; detail and deadline orientated.
Excellent time management skills with equal flexibility to balance priorities and drive outcomes.

Dynamic fast-paced team environment. Some travel may be required.
