JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:  Spec., Product Line Sales, Analysis, & Insights

LOCATION: Medina, MN

DEPARTMENT: Product Line Sales

REPORTS TO:

Manger, Product Line Sales Analysis & Insights

JOB SUMMARY:

Equal parts thinker and doer. You thrive not only white-boarding strategies and problem solving, picking up the phone, getting involved, getting your hands dirty & getting it done.

Lead strategy for promotional programs supporting the MC go-to-market plan.  Develop and implement programs targeted to dealers & end-consumers to drive goal attainment across, retail, revenue, mix and profitability goals for MC division.  Primary liaison & voice of the dealer and field sales team to corporate teams.  Provides critical competitive insights and recommends appropriate countermeasure recommendations to achieve divisional goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Promotional Strategies

  • Creates promotion strategies aligned to MC operating plan to deliver retail & wholesale goals
  • Leads the strategy, planning and execution of share-growing retail programs
  • Manages spending within promotional budget limits
  • Tracks and reports program effectiveness vs. goals

Retail Strategy & Execution

  • Establishes retail sales and share goals for regions in partnership with sales operations
  • Responsible for building and executing industry-leading retail plans
  • Leads development of dealer engagement strategies to drive retail
  • Analyzes business data to understand trends & makes recommendations based on the data
  • Conducts retail, inventory & stocking analysis, building recommendations based on the data
  • Owns and reports on various metrics such as retail volume, market share, stocking

Wholesale Programs & Strategies

  • Establishes wholesale sales and share goals for regions in partnership with sales operations
  • Develops wholesale programs.  Manages through key metrics and stays aligned on issues. Aligns PLSS team to work with Sales Ops and Field to implement and achieve goals

Pricing Strategies

  • Provides pricing input for all MC vehicle products and new product introductions
  • Partners with sales operations on new model planning, build/ship alignment, and launch plans

Competitive Analysis

  • Owns competitive intel, including tracking and reporting of competitor program spending
  • Leads competitive pricing analysis
  • Recommends countermeasures to competitor programs, pricing, and market share position

Field Communication

  • Partners with Field Sales leadership to sets and communicate monthly and annual sales priorities for field sales
  • Provides “voice of the field” input to support marketing strategy and tactical decision-making
  • Creates and initiates dealer communications relative to product-line specific sales matters
  • Interfaces with field sales and dealers to resolve issues and consider special requests such as program exceptions, flooring assistance, coop and retail accelerators
  • Leads team to coordinate the planning and implementation of field sales and dealer sales meetings
  • Supports Dealer Development in all dealer adds or changes as needed

Leadership

  • Partner with Field Sales Leadership to successfully lead the RFM transition, including profile alignment, execution planning and communications/training needs for field

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales or similar field required
  • 3+ years of sales and/or marketing experience
  • Proven track record of driving results and retail sales growth
  • In-depth knowledge of dealers and the channels in which they operate to thoroughly understand the powersports retail landscape
  • Candidate must be detail-oriented and a creative thinker with outstanding organization, communication, project management and analytical skills; strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated success working in a very fast-paced environment and ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and interact with all levels of management
  • An understanding, appreciation, and/or passion for powersports and related/similar businesses
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
     

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Location – Medina Facility, MN
  • Corporate office environment / Flexible schedule aligned to Polaris and GBU strategy
  • Travel required, up to 25% of the time
