JOB SUMMARY:

Lead the Commercial, Government & Defense (CGD) Finance team, including business decision support and planning (Product Development, Strategic Planning, Annual Planning and Forecasting, and Results reporting) to deliver strong risk-balanced plans for continued business growth. Reports to the Director of Off-Road Platform Finance with a scope encompassing multiple Product Lines & Sales Channels and annual revenue of approximately $300M.  Manage, lead & develop team of 2 analysts. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is a key role in the company that includes substantial visibility to the Commercial & Defense leadership teams as well as working closely with the VPGM of Polaris Commercial and VPGM of Polaris Defense. This person will lead the consolidation, assessment and reporting on business plan performance, including risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions to identify value creation opportunities and improve business outcomes.

  • Drive the core financial processes for the CGD Platforms, including annual budget, quarterly forecasts, long range plan, and monthly operating reviews.

  • Review and communicate accurate monthly financial results, while providing operational analysis and variance explanations to broader platform business teams to drive financial knowledge across the teams.

  • Provide strategic guidance to help the business in the achievement of LRP & annual financial goals (Revenue / Gross Profit % / EBITDA / Inventory / Capital), identifying & communicating trade-offs / opportunities to improve performance.

  • Serve as primary business partner for CGD product planning / business teams, supporting PDP & portfolio reviews, ensuring timely and accurate assessment of business plans.

  • Complete complex business modeling and analysis to drive revenue growth, identify operating improvements, deep dive on cost structures and analyze business opportunities/investments (ROI/NPV).

  • Facilitate financial review meetings with business groups and work with business managers to ensure effective financial performance and cost management.

  • Drive process improvement across all aspects of processes including implementation and/or enhancement of tools and processes used to support business teams, with a focus on automation & synergies.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable SOX & Financial controls in all platform business team processes and procedures.

  • Manage, develop and coach the analyst team. Assist in setting department and individual goals. Monitor progress to company, department and individual goals. Manage workload, evaluate resource requirements and provide guidance to the cross-functional GBU teams.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred. Advanced degree desired.

  • 6+ years’ experience in finance/accounting positions of growing responsibility required.  

  • Previous experience managing a team required.

  • Experience communicating, reporting and influencing executive leadership in a strategic partnership capacity. Strong business acumen.

  • Experience coordinating large financial processes such as Divisional or Corporate annual budgets/forecasts is required.  

  • Ability to analyze complex data and translate it into actionable information and plans.

  • Experience using and implementing financial processes/tools such as OneStream / Alteryx / Power BI.

  • Experience with leading summarization of detailed financial analyses for presentation to senior management.

  • Excellent influencing and leadership skills. “Hands-on” active participative leadership style. 

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships in a matrix environment with multiple customers and evaluators.

  • Proven success in driving change and leading process improvement within finance and business support systems.

  • Detail oriented, possess strong analytical skills and strong knowledge of Excel financial modeling.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives at once.
