Job Summary:

The Diagnostics and Diagram Developer researches and creates advanced technical content to build the knowledge and capabilities of our dealers and customers in understanding their vehicles.  The Developer is the subject matter expert for enhancing diagnostic and diagram content across all Polaris and Indian Motorcycle publications, and transforms complex processes and technical concepts into clear and concise documentation and images to achieve our goals for quality, global capability, and customer centricity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead department initiatives for research, development, and implementation of new technologies and processes related to diagnostics Gather material and input from engineering, service, project management, legal, compliance and other applicable sources Research and translate Engineering prints into schematics and diagrams that are easy to understand Create and deliver content and imagery with technician use in mind for print, mobile, and web experiences Participate in hands on technical procedures to document and verify service processes Autonomously work with all necessary stakeholders to establish project timelines, communicate risks, and identify solutions Edit, standardize, or make changes as needed to material provided by others Create or obtain illustrations, photographs, or other graphic components to illustrate material Capability to author content of varying complexity for multiple audiences of differing degrees of technical ability Drive adoption of enhanced diagnostic information across a team of writers for standard work Embrace new ideas, tools, and team vision; identify and implement LEAN practices to drive out waste in processes and systems Monitor trends in end-user feedback and drive innovation to deliver customer centricity Participate in enterprise-wide projects and strategic advancements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in automotive or related technical
  • Experience using and creating electrical wiring / circuit diagrams
  • Experience with Diagnostic Trouble Codes
  • High-level of mechanical aptitude and understanding of electric, hydraulic and mechanical principles

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Proficiency using Windchill, Arbortext, Creo Illustrate, Adobe suite
  • Experience with Engineering Prints
  • Powersports industry experience

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced office environment.
Travel as needed (approximately 5-10%).
