JOB SUMMARY: 

 

The Off-Road Supply Chain Execution team will work cross-functionally to develop and implement countermeasures identified by Supply Chain Risk Management teams. This team will also lead proactive supply chain risk identification and mitigation to improve supply continuity, while delivering strong performance to Build and Ship SIOP, Financial Forecasts and Cost, Quality and Delivery metrics. 

 

As an Electrical Engineer within the Supply Chain Execution team, you will be responsible for bringing creative solutions for constrained parts/components affecting the off-road vehicle business.  This includes working cross-functionally to create, track, and implement new parts, deviations, alternate configurations, new materials, redesigns, and more in a fast-paced environment.  This role will include work on Bill of Materials (BOMs), cost and budget tracking, scheduling and execution of changes, and ensuring that parts are at the assembly plants when needed all while maintaining a high level of communication across groups.  This person will also leverage strong communication skills to lead cross-functional meetings and ensure all groups are up-to-date on key project deliverables.  This role will be a pivotal success driver to the overall build and ship attainment for Polaris Off-Road! 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manages simultaneous projects that are days, weeks, or months in duration with significant financial investment. 

  • Establish reasonable project development schedules from concept to production implementation in line with overall business requirements. 

  • Tracks project updates and implementations along with supporting details. 

  • Host cross-functional meetings to track and help solve critical parts issues. 

  • Analyze complex issues, propose solutions, and work to implement fixes. 

  • Drives issue resolution amongst the design and systems engineering teams in order to keep assigned project(s) on schedule. 

  • Supports all design related component styling, purchasing, and manufacturing tasks with emphasis on safety, quality, reliability, delivery, and cost. 

  • Benchmark competitive design/processes/materials and function. 

  • Utilize the Polaris product development process. 

  • Provide direction, coordination, and design trade-offs for designers within the team. 

  • Coordinates development, layout, testing, drafting, and fabrication to ensure project objectives are met per schedule. 

  • Lead and participates in design reviews on projects to ensure adequate input and involvement from all engineering and functional groups. 

  • Analyzes manufacturing and field problems. Recommends and implements solutions. 

  • Performs other miscellaneous project related assignments. 

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. 

  • Other tasks and duties as assigned. 

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required 

  • 3-5 years’ minimum previous experience in automotive, agriculture, or consumer product engineering preferred. 

  • Minimum of 2+ years of supplier interaction experience as it relates to sourced materials/components.

  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult technical problems and projects. 

  • Skilled in multitasking and executing many tasks at once. 

  • Decisive and prone to action – self starter. 

  • Creo experience preferred, but not required. 

  • Experience with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

  • Exhibits outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written communication). 

  • Understands and actively pursues the voice of the customer to exceed customer expectations.

  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
