SYSTEMS ENGINEER - STRUCTURES 

JOB SUMMARY: 

We are looking for a vehicle structures expert within our off road vehicle structures team who can lead the design, development, and validation of new and existing chassis. This would include vehicle frames, ROPS, bumpers, and other structural members. 

The Systems Engineer will work closely with project, test, validation, and manufacturing teams to ensure the chassis is meeting key deliverables and achieving industry leading standards. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Complete the design, and analyze structural components and assemblies in support of the development and refinement of off-road vehicles 

  • Collaborate with Vehicle Architects and Subject Matter Experts to define specifications for components and assemblies 

  • Interact and direct resources across multiple engineering sites and work collaboratively with on/offshore resources to reach final design in the most efficient means 

  • Participate in testing and benchmarking activities 

  • Initiate and maintain schedules, DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs 

  • Participate in key project milestones including team meetings, design reviews, gate reviews, and safety reviews 

  • Complete the analysis and design of structural components and assemblies to achieve superior performance, safety, and quality.  

  • Work with the quality team on root cause analysis activities and gather, analyze, track, and report on warranty and other consumer quality information related to structural components 

  • Partner with cross functional teams including service, purchasing, vendors, & manufacturing to ensure all aspects of the development process are executed well and prepared for success. 

  • Domestic and international travel may be required (<15%) 

  • Take responsibility for other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Agricultural Engineering 

  • Ability to drive vehicles for development and testing purposes is preferred 

  • Experience with Ansys or similar FEA software is preferred 

  • Experience with bolted joint analysis, GD&T, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups, and engineering standards is preferred 

  • Ability to communicate well and work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment 

  • 3+ years of design experience; preferably in off-road, construction, or industrial equipment
