The newest attraction in this community known for snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles and hockey isn't a museum.
Instead, the 5,600-square-foot Polaris Experience Center is a self-guided tour, of sorts, through the history of a company that's been an integral part of life here for more than 50 years. The Experience Center opened Dec. 7.
Polaris was founded in a small Minnesota town called Roseau. Located just south of the Canadian border, Roseau is still home to Polaris facilities that handle Snowmobile, ATV, RANGER & RZR production, plastics manufacturing, aspects of engineering and product testing. One of the main attractions in this community known for snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles and hockey isn't just a museum. Instead, the 5,600-square-foot Polaris Experience Center is a selfguided tour, of sorts, through the history of a company that's been an integral part of life in Roseau for more than 50 years.
From the second snowmobile ever made in 1956, to later innovations such as ATV's, Side by Side vehicles & the Victory motorcycle, it's quite a ride. Located in the Reed River Trading Co. building just north of the Polaris Roseau plant, the Experience Center weaves product displays with lifelike exhibits, enlarged photographs and interactive video presentations – including a miniature theater to tell the company's story.
If you're a Polaris enthusiast, then you owe it to yourself and your family to pay a visit to the Polaris Experience Center in Roseau. While you're there, take a tour of the Polaris plant. The minute you arrive you'll truly get a sense of the pride and passion that is Polaris - along with an undeniable down-home feel that seems to be harder and harder to find these days. Without question, it's a very special place that's the home of a very special American company.
