How did you get started in Racing?: "I've wanted to race since I was a little kid, but never really got an opportunity. After graduating college I finally had some spare time & money and was able to go to a race where I was introduced to the Bunke Racing crew. I hung around the Bunke trailer and helped out everywhere I could - and learned a ton. I think I went to every race that season just to help out and learn as much as I could. But each race I went to made me want to try it for myself more and more. So the next summer I went to Haydays and bought an old used race sled and decided to give it a try!"
Goals for 2013-2014 Race Season: Semi-Pro Stock and Improved points championships; Five first-place finishes; Finish the I-500; No DNFs due to mechanical failures
Favorite Track/Race: Park Rapids. It has a little of everything! (ditches, fields, lakes, woods, trails).
Any pre-race rituals (routines, apparel) you do for good luck?: "No, I don't have any rituals; I think the best "good luck" comes from having your equipment, gear, and mind properly prepared."
Who has influenced your race career the most?: "Good question. I think a lot of my race inspiration and motivation comes from old stories about guys like my grandpa Allan, Bob Eastman, and Jerry Bunke. I mean, just try reading the Star Fire Kids book and not be inspired to go buy a sled and start racing!"
